Do Cetraxal drops reduce the effectiveness of Novynette?
Hello, can ear drops with the antibiotic cetraxal plus reduce the effectiveness of hormonal contraception (novynette)? Can only oral antibiotic therapy interfere with the action of contraceptive pills?

Topical preparations such as gels/ointments/drops containing antibiotics in their composition do not have a negative effect on the effectiveness of hormonal anticonduction. This is due to the fact that they penetrate into the general circulation to a small extent. So there is no reason to worry, the effectiveness will be preserved and the drops do not pose a threat to protection against pregnancy.
