If you stop taking birth control pills while taking the placebo pills, are you protected from getting pregnant?

hello, I have a question about the effects of placebo tablets in the drug axia conti. When the whole blister was taken correctly and I came to the placebo, can I have unprotected sex while taking the placebo? after this blister I would like to stop taking contraception in pills for somehow. when I finish taking the last four placebo pills (during which I had unprotected sex) and I do not take a new blister immediately, can I get pregnant?

There is no official information regarding the risk of pregnancy in the situation described above. According to some sources, the life span of sperm in the genital tract in extreme cases can be up to 5 days (usually 24-48 hours), therefore the risk of getting pregnant in the described situation cannot be excluded. The termination of taking the tablets in this case can be treated analogously to the situation when the active tablet was omitted in the first days of the new cycle, i.e. according to the information contained in the leaflet of Axia Conti tablets, if within 7 days preceding the day on which you would start the new package there was unprotected intercourse, there is a probability of becoming pregnant. It is safest in this situation for the last 7 days of using the pills and for the first 7 days after the end of their use, during intercourse to use a mechanical method of contraception. You can read more about contraception in the text: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-prawidlowo-stosowac-antykoncepcje
