Good morning. For many years I have been taking psychotropic drugs, solid benzodiazepines. At the same time, I supplement potassium, magnesium and sometimes sodium. For many months I have been changing the group of drugs and successively discontinuing benzo. I also got simpramol 1-1-2 from the doctor I noticed that supplemented potassium stops in my body instantly. Previously, I fought hard for level 4. Now for two days I jump from 3.8 to 4.7. For me, that's a lot. Does simpramol retain potassium in the body? I will be grateful for the info. Regards Klaudia

In the available medical literature I do not find information about the induction of hyperkalemia by Simpramol. This drug should not be the cause of your ailment. The norm for potassium is 3.5-5 mmol / l, so the values given in the question do not exceed the norm. The increase in the concentration of potassium in the blood is most often the result of slowing down its excretion in the urine and excessive release of potassium from the cell. Hyperkalemia can be contracted by taking too many dietary supplements containing potassium. Kidney disease, hemorrhages, starvation or untreated diabetes can also contribute to this condition. In addition, the level of potassium in the blood increases under the influence of hypoxia, as a result of metabolic or respiratory acidosis, and in renal failure and adrenal insufficiency. If you are concerned about your health and you associate it with the effects of Sympramol, it is best to talk about it with your doctor who is familiar with your health in detail. In the meantime, I suggest you stop dietary supplements containing potassium, because you probably already provide a frightening amount of potassium with a diet. I enclose a detailed description of the preparation you are asking about: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/76409/sympramol-drazetki/ulotka/140978
