Does Saxenda weaken the effectiveness of birth control pills?

Liraglutide (the active ingredient in Saxenda) may affect the metabolism of the ingredients in birth control pills, but this effect has not been found to be clinically relevant. Therefore, the effectiveness of contraceptive protection of the pills should not change, despite the concomitant use of Saxenda. Taking birth control pills is also not a contraindication to the use of Saxenda.
