Good morning. I took Syndi-35 for several years, I took a break from October, now the gynecologist prescribed Elin. I'm worried, because there is a completely different composition of tablets. Compared to Syndi 35, are they the same with respect to the contraceptive effect? Does Elin help improve the condition of the skin, as it was with Syndi 35?

Contraceptive pills Syndi-35 and Elin contain ethinyl estradiol, differ from each other in the proegstagen component. In Elin it is cyproterone acetate, while Elin tablets contain norgestimate. The effectiveness of these contraceptive pills is comparable. When it comes to improving the condition of the skin, the norgestimat contained in Elin reduces the symptoms of androgenization, such as acne, seborrhea, male pattern baldness or hirsutism. Therefore, it can be expected that, as in the case of Syndi-35 tablets, the improvement in the condition of the skin will be noticeable.
