At the time of taking single-ingredient tablets (Slinda), am I the most protected really only 4 hours after taking the tablet? I went through a few questions of people (without answers) and pages that you should calculate the relationship with your partner preferably after taking a pill. Am I actually less protected before taking the pill or at night? These are my first tablets and I did not find any information about it in the leaflet. Are single-ingredient tablets actually less effective?

Slinda birth control pills – like other hormonal oral contraceptives, both single and two-component – work the same throughout the period of use. So it is not true that they are "more effective" immediately after taking, and then - "less effective". You are protected in the same way all the time. There are no recommendations to calculate the hours of intercourse in addiction from the moment of taking the tablet. Birth control pills primarily block ovulation. If they are used correctly and regularly, ovulation simply does not occur and the woman is therefore not fertile regardless of the time of day. Systematic intake of the tablet is necessary so that the effect of ovulation blockade is maintained. In addition, these drugs increase the viscosity of cervical mucus and make the endometrium thinner - these effects also contribute to the effectiveness in preventing pregnancy.
