What essential oil can I use for nebulization?
Good morning, what oils can I add to the nebulizer so that a child of 8 years old will inhale? Salt alone does not help much with a runny nose or cough.

Do not pour any essential oils into the nebulizer. A nebulizer breaks down the liquid molecules into much smaller sizes than a drop of vapor – this allows the oils to reach deeper into the lungs, which can cause, for example, rapid contraction of the bronchi and bronchioles and, in extreme cases, even suffocation. Essential oils should work in the higher structures of the bronchial tree.
Essential oils can be used during steam inhalation. Steam inhalation involves inhaling vapours floating above hot water. Steam inhalation should be performed on children under adult supervision.
For use in the form of steam inhalation, oils available in online and stationary pharmacies are ideal, such as:

The aforementioned Zatoxin inhalation contains dry plant extracts, not essential oils. The product has been developed for use in piston inhalers.
The nebulizer breaks down the particles into large particles smaller than a drop of vapor. A drop of vapour during steam inhalation does not reach the bronchial tree, but remains in the upper part of the respiratory tract, which reduces the risk of, for example, excessive irritation.
Where do these recommendations come from? After all, the water droplets continue to evaporate and a gas is formed, which gets everywhere with the breath. In addition, the recommended Zatoxin inhalation is recommended for inhalation with a piston nebulizer.

Do not pour essential oils into the nebulizer. The nebulizer breaks down fluid molecules into much smaller sizes than a drop of steam – this allows the oils to reach deeper into the lungs, which can cause rapid spasm of the bronchi and bronchioles and, in extreme cases, especially in the child suffocation. Oils can be used for steam inhalation - the treatment consists in inhaling oil vapors over a bowl of hot water with the addition of oil, e.g. eucalyptus, pine.
