I have been taking Limetic contraceptive pills for several years without interruption. Recently I happened to skip the 7th tablet in the blister (the first week). It was a Sunday. I remembered about the missed tablet on Monday but unfortunately 16 hours have passed. I immediately took the pill and in addition at the usual time another (as always) At night when I forgot to take the pill there was intercourse (full). What is the probability of getting an unwanted pregnancy?

According to the documentation of the drug Limetic, if the delay in taking the tablet is more than 12 hours, the contraceptive effectiveness of the drug may be reduced. If you took the missed pill immediately after remembering about it, and the next one at the usual time, you did the right thing, but in this case you should also use an additional method of contraception (e.g. a condom) for the next 7 days. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to determine what the real risk of pregnancy is in the described case and there are no tools that would allow you to calculate them. The documentation of the drug is also silent on this topic. In general, the greater the amount of pills missed, the greater the risk of reducing contraceptive efficacy. However, as I wrote above, it is recommended to take appropriate steps, such as additional protection for a week, if you miss a single tablet. This does not mean, however, that you definitely became pregnant as a result of that intercourse.
