I took a Vibin tablet at 9:20 p.m. and vomited about 1:30 a.m. Has the tablet been absorbed?

According to the manufacturer's information, if vomiting occurs within 3-4 hours after taking a tablet containing active substances, a new (additional) tablet should be taken as soon as possible. If possible, the new tablet should be taken within 12 hours of the usual time of taking the tablet. In your case, about 4 hours have passed since taking the tablet to vomiting. According to the instructions in the leaflet, it can be considered that there was still a need to take another tablet. However, when assessing the kinetics of the drug, i.e. how quickly it is absorbed and when it reaches the appropriate concentration in the blood, there is a small risk that the tablet has not had time to dissolve and absorb. Oral administration is followed by rapid, almost complete absorption of drospirenone. A maximum serum concentration of this active substance of 38 ng/ml is reached approximately 1-2 hours after a single dose. Ethinylestradiol is rapidly and completely absorbed after oral administration. After a dose of 30 μg, the maximum plasma concentration of 100 pg/ml is reached 1-2 hours after application. In case of concern, for your own peace of mind, you can use a condom for the next 7 days. You can also follow the diagram from the leaflet, which tells you what to do if the tablet was missed. However, the scenario of the procedure may vary depending on which week the tablet was missed (if it did not manage to absorb and was removed on the occasion of vomiting).
