If you experience nausea while taking Dulsevia, you do not need to take any additional measures, as they will most likely not work anyway. Talk to your doctor about this. Nausea is caused by taking the drug, so taking any preparation for nausea would have to offset the effect of Dulsevia, and this will not happen. Duloxetine - the active substance in Dulsevia - works after at least 2 weeks, often longer. At the beginning of therapy, some side effects may intensify - it can be said that this is the "normal" stage of therapy in the course of treatment with agents from the group of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). In particular, this applies to thoughts of self-harm or suicide, but the patient may also feel powerlessness, fatigue, weakness, worsening of depression or anxiety, sweats, muscle tension, pulsation, a feeling of tremor or heat in various parts of the body, restlessness, vomiting, anorexia or nausea mentioned by you. Also, other side effects may be more pronounced at the beginning of therapy, but they usually pass after 2-3 weeks. This is due to the fact that drugs weaken the perception of anxiety quite quickly, but do not immediately have an antidepressant effect. If the patient is not able to cope during the adaptation period due to side effects, he should consult a doctor and not give up therapy. If it is not possible to talk to the attending physician, he should consult the general practitioner, e.g. by phone: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/app/blog/jak-telefoniczne-otrzymac-recepte-i-zwolnienie-lekarskie In selected cases, the doctor may at the beginning of treatment include emergency sedatives for a period of about 2 weeks, e.g. alprazolam. They will help to eliminate or weaken the side effects that the drug causes in the initial period of therapy. Due to the possibility of tolerance, however, it is not recommended to use them for more than 14 days. Usually, after this time - in a "critical" situation - you can take such a preparation from time to time, e.g. at night. Your doctor may also consider reducing your dose (usually by half) and gradually increasing it every 5-7 days until you reach the correct dose.
