Hello, I was recommended to take the first contraceptive pill during the first day of the cycle. Didn't it hurt when I took the pill a few hours later instead of immediately getting my period? Since my period appeared to me around 10 p.m., but I was not able to take the medicine until after midnight, I gave it up and took it the next day at 7 o'clock. Does contraception protect me right away Do I have to wait a safe 7 days?

If you take the first contraceptive pill within 24 hours of bleeding, you are immediately protected from pregnancy and do not need to protect yourself additionally.
