These are my first pills... should I start taking them from the moment the spotting occurs or when the period starts normally?

If spotting means the start of menstruation and it is the first day of a new cycle - then the first tablet should be taken already during spotting. Do not wait until the "period starts" and the bleeding is already intense. Taking the pill on the first day of the cycle will provide contraceptive protection from the first pill. If you are not sure whether the first day of spotting is the first day of menstruation - you can preventively use additional protection in the form of a condom for the first 7 days of using Daylette tablets.
