Should I take ellaOne if I'm on day 22 of my cycle?

Hello I was having intercourse during which a condom broke when Ejaculation. I have the 22nd day of the cycle, in 8 days I should get a period. Ovulation was on January 14th. Should I kill Ellaone? Please reply.

ellaOne is designed to affect progesterone function to delay the onset of ovulation. If ovulation has already occurred - the drug has no chance to work at this stage. However, it can also be concluded that if ovulation has already taken place, the chances of pregnancy are low, because the presence of an egg cell is necessary for fertilization.

If I am already after ovulation, the pill the day after will not do anything? I do not have the possibility of emergency contraception? Is the chance of pregnancy then low?

The decision to take the pill after is an individual matter and none of us can take it for you - it is not only a medical issue, but also beliefs in many people that we can not and should not influence. The action of ellaOne is based on delaying the onset of ovulation. If ovulation has already taken place, the drug does not have a "grip point", and thus - there is no way to act. User questions and answers that provide feedback about products are not verified for the purchase or use of the product. Companies often order anonymous comments to form positive opinions about their products, or negative ones about competitors. Therefore, be guided by the information in the pharmacists' responses in the first place.
