Hello, I started the first pack of Vibin Mini tablets on the first day of the cycle. After taking the 3rd tablet, I learned that they can not be washed down with juices. (I washed down the second tablet with a grapefruit drink and the third with a post-mother peach.) From this point on, I'm going to drink the tablets only with mineral water. Can the effect of the tablets be weakened if there are no side effects? Should additional security be used? If so, for what period of time?

Contraceptive pills should not be washed down with citrus juices (e.g. grapefruit, orange), because the ingredients contained in them inhibit the activity of the cytochrome P450 isoenzyme 3A4, which is responsible for the metabolism of estradiol – a component of two-component contraceptive pills. In simple terms, the liver will be "busy" with the decomposition of juice, not tablets. This will not lead to a decrease in their effectiveness (therefore it is not necessary to use additional methods of contraception), but may increase the risk of side effects (e.g. vomiting, diarrhoea, headache).
