Are there bleedings when using hormonal contraception?
Hi, I have a question about bleeding because at the first blister with placebo I had spotting only, and at the second blister half of it with active I got bleeding and I know that there are no menstruation but I had ovarian pain and quite a lot of bleeding for 4 days as always when I never took contraception and this is my first contraception in my life, please answer how it is with this bleeding because it was certainly a normal menstruation for me.

Podczas stosowania antykoncepcji hormonalnej nie występuje typowa miesiączka. Występujące krwawienia są tzw. krwawieniami z odstawienia. Podczas pierwszych kilku miesięcy stosowania antykoncepcji (zazwyczaj do 6 pierwszych miesięcy) mogą występować nieregularne krwawienia i plamienia. Jest to tzw. okres adaptacyjny. Krwawienia z odstawienia mogą przypominać naturalną miesiączkę. Mogą być też mniej lub bardziej intensywne oraz dłuższe lub krótsze od naturalnej miesiączki.
