How to effectively prevent pregnancy?

Good morning, I'm with my boyfriend of two years at that time we didn't have sex once. We are afraid of ordinary condoms because we do not want to fall when it break. I tried to take birth control pills, but I felt terrible after them... I'm young and I have no idea how else to effectively protect myself, any advice?
