Usually, taking birth control pills, after a break from using hormonal contraceptive methods, it is recommended to start on the first day of the natural menstrual cycle (i.e. on the first day of menstrual bleeding). Taking the tablets can also be started between the 2nd and 5th day of the menstrual cycle, but then for the first 7 days of taking the tablets it is recommended to use additional mechanical contraception, e.g. a condom. If you start using the medicine at a different time, an additional method of contraception should be used throughout the first pack, as the medicine may not provide contraceptive protection. It is worth bearing in mind that with long-term use of hormonal contraception, deficiencies of B vitamins, especially B12, B6 and folates, may occur, so you can consider additional supplementation with these ingredients, e.g.: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/98557/naturell-witamina-b-complex-forte-tabletki/apteki I attach materials that may be useful: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-prawidlowo-stosowac-antykoncepcje https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jakie-leki-oslabiaja-skutecznosc-antykoncepcji https://www.gdziepolek.pl/blog/historia-antykoncepcji-metody-zapobiegania-ciazy-kiedys-i-dzis

To @Karolina:
Yes, it is possible to start taking Vibin mini after a one-year break. To maintain protection, the first tablet should be taken on the first day of menstrual bleeding. Here you can check the availability of Vibin mini in pharmacies and make a reservation:

Can I go straight back to using Vibin Mini tablets after a year off?

To @Eveli:

Do not take a break longer than 7 days, as contraceptive protection is not maintained during a longer break.

Eveli (Anonymous, 94.44.242.) 2 months ago

I'm taking Kok Janin, now I'm on a 7-day interval. (I've been taking it for more than two years)
Can I extend the extension for another 2 days? Since I don't have any pills with me now Please reply

Hello, I've been using the contraceptive Orlique for over a year now and recently I ran out of pills because the doctor didn't inform me that the prescription is not valid for half a year. Now, eight days ago, I had a break for my period, but because it took me away, I don't take pills. Can I go back to continuing contraception now or is it better to wait until my period? ( I had a break of 7 days for my period and then I didn't take eight days because I didn't have pills) please reply

After a 2-month break, can I take the vibin mini contraceptive pill again, on the day of my scheduled period, although this period did not occur, only slight spotting, but I am not pregnant?

To @Kdbjd: You can, but I would recommend continuing to take the drug for at least the first cycle (month) - breast pain usually stops with the time of using the tablets.

Kdbjd (Anonymous, 37.225.92.) 10 months ago

After 4 contraceptives taken for the first time, can I stop taking them myself because of breast pain?

To @Jula: A gynecologist should be consulted to start taking birth control pills again. If necessary, he will order appropriate tests to make sure that you can safely return to taking your pills.

Jula (Anonymous, 185.172.86.) 12 months ago

Hello, I have been taking Vines tablets for less than a year, I stopped using them 8 months ago and I would like to return to them. Is this advisable? After discontinuation, there were no side effects, everything is fine.

Klaudia Ćwiąkała Pharmacist, Editor

To @Kasiaaa: It is not recommended to notoriously shorten the 7-day break. The gynecologist should be informed about the occurrence of migraine - a change of medication may be indicated. I enclose a thread that may interest you: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/opinie-i-pytania/81387/drovelis-czy-przyjmowanie-drovelis-jesli-wystepuja-u-mnie-migreny-z-aura-jest-bezpieczne

Hello, can the break after finishing the blister last 3 days and not 7? I have migraines when I get my period, so when I get it, I take a pill right away and the break is only 3 days. Does this weaken my protection?

Klaudia Ćwiąkała Pharmacist, Editor

To @Jula: Yes, you can return to using Vines tablets after a break. About how to do it correctly, I wrote in the statement above. Both taking a break and returning to the use of contraceptive pills should be consulted with your gynecologist.

Jula  (Anonymous, 31.182.238.) 18 months ago

Hi I have been taking vines tablets for 10 months, currently I have no need to take them, or if now I stop, in what time will I be able to start again?

Ewa Pilch Pharmacist, Editor

Do @ Natalia: Frequent discontinuation of contraceptive drugs increases the risk of side effects, such as irregular spotting and bleeding. This is related to the interruption of the adaptive period of the body. Restarting the use of the contraceptive preparation is associated with the need to adapt the body to the use of hormonal drugs (usually for the first 3-6 months of using the drug). The possible occurrence of irregular spotting and bleeding does not affect the effectiveness of hormonal contraception. Properly started new pack of the drug after a break will ensure effectiveness from the 1st tablet.

Good morning, I was forced to take a break from taking birth control pills after a few months, then after 2 months I came back to them and after about 3 months due to forgetting to take a few pills, I stopped taking them again. Could I have served myself some havoc in my body in this way? I will point out that I do not feel any negative changes. If I start taking pills again, can I count on their desired effect? Best regards

To @Róża: There is no rule that requires a 3-month break every 3 years while using birth control pills. If you do not need to use tablets now, you can stop the treatment and start it in subsequent cycles - taking the first tablet on the first day of menstruation. I attach a link to a helpful post: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/opinie-i-pytania/37650/naraya-jak-dlugo-mozna-stosowac-tabletki-antykoncepcyjne

Good morning! I have a question, as far as I know, after 3 years of using hormonal contraception (belara tablets) you should take a 3-month break. For me, 3 years will pass only at the turn of December and January. Could I take a 3-month break now for the holidays (because I do not have to take them during this period) or should it be zeobic after 3 years?

For @Aneta: During the first few months of using the contraceptive preparation, irregular spotting and bleeding may occur. Menstruation may be shortened or lengthened. In the event that the bleeding does not subside within a few days, I encourage you to consult a gynecologist. After stopping the use of the contraceptive drug, bleeding will also occur. I encourage you to familiarize yourself with additional materials that may be useful: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-prawidlowo-stosowac-antykoncepcje

To @Wiolab: In this case, I encourage you to start a new pack of Microgynon on day 1 of the new cycle (when bleeding occurs). This will ensure the contraceptive effectiveness of the drug from the 1st tablet: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/48863/microgynon-21-tabletki-powlekane/ulotka/31262 Until the start of a new package, I encourage you to use another, non-hormonal method of contraception.

Wiolab (Anonymous, 31.182.239.) 1 year ago

Good morning, on Saturday 7 May I should take 1 tablet of microgynon 21 after a 7 day break. Unfortunately, only today I have pills with me. Can I start taking a new package after a 2 week break in 3 days on Saturday or wait until the period? I have been taking tablets for 2 years

To @KingaP: If you have had intercourse without additional protection before and within 7 consecutive days after skipping the pills, I encourage you to take a pregnancy test: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/test-ciazowy-jaki-wybrac-i-kiedy-zrobic Extending the break by 1 day may have resulted in a reduction in the effectiveness of hormonal contraception. If you get a negative pregnancy test, continue using Vines. If a positive result is obtained, you should consult a gynecologist: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/81748/vines-tabletki-powlekane/ulotka/195614

Good morning. I take Vines tablets. A month ago, I ended up in the hospital and couldn't take the pills. I missed 1 tablet with the hormone and 4 green (Thursday-Monday). Spotting appeared. I started the next package from Tuesday. A month has passed and I should have gotten my period, but it does not appear. Could it be that it has shifted in time? Does this indicate otherwise? Best regards

For @Aga: Taking 1 tablet of Belara with a delay of 8 hours does not affect the contraceptive effectiveness of the drug. You can take your medicines at a new, fixed time: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/9841/belara-tabletki-powlekane/ulotka/115372

Good morning I take belara birth control pills. I always had a 7-day break from Thursday to Thursday and on Friday evening I started another package at 21.30. Now I forgot to take on Friday at 21.30 but I took it at 5.30 in the morning and I have been taking them like this for 3 days now, can I continue to take them like this?

Angelika Talar-Śpionek Pharmacist, Editor

To @Sylwia: Yes, as you wrote - you should take a 4-day break as if they were green tablets, and after these 4 days (i.e. after returning) start a new package. There is no need for additional contraceptive methods, provided that all tablets have been taken correctly within the 7 days preceding the omission of the first pill.

Sylwia (Anonymous, 31.61.182.) 2 years ago

Good morning, I have been taking Vines tablets for about 3 years, now I left for 3 days and forgot to take them with me. This means that I will not take pills for 3 days. These are tablets from the 3rd order (18,19,20). How do I continue to take the pills when I return and continue normally? Should you take a 4-day break and it would be green tablets? And after these 4 days to start a new package? Should I start taking them from the new packaging on the day of the first day of the month?

Ewa Pilch Pharmacist, Editor

For @Anetka: You can start using the medicine again after one month. I encourage you to start a new pack on day 1 of your cycle (at the time of bleeding) to provide contraceptive protection from the 1st pill.

For @Ewa: You can start using the medicine after these 7 days. However, an additional method of contraception should be used for the entire 1 pack.

Ewa  (Anonymous, 195.3.152.) 2 years ago

Good morning. I currently have a 7 day break (for a period of ). The doctor will write me a referral only in a week. Can I start taking the pills after 7 days from the time I should take them?

Angelika Talar-Śpionek Pharmacist, Editor

To @Gosia: You can immediately return to taking the tablets - when using the tablets from this "started" package, you should use an additional form of contraception in the form of a condom. The protection will be preserved only when taking the tablets from the new package.

Gosia (Anonymous, 89.231.43.) 2 years ago

Good morning, I stopped Yaz contraception for 7 days in the middle of the pack. Do I want to go back to taking pills or do I have to wait for the bleeding now and start taking on the first day? Can I start a new packaging right away?

To @Pechowiec: Yes, you can start taking the pills again on the first day of your period. Then the protection will be preserved from the first tablet.

Olga Sierpniowska Pharmacist, Editor

Tabletki antykoncepcyjne "w nieznacznym stopniu zwiększają ryzyko powstania zakrzepów krwi w żyłach i tętnicach".

W przypadku przerwy trwającej kilka tygodni powrót do stosowania leku polega na rozpoczęciu zażywania go w pierwszy dzień krwawienia miesiączkowego.

Michalina  (Anonymous, 37.248.223.) 2 years ago

Ewa Pilch Pharmacist, Editor

Do @Agnieszka:

Zachęcam, aby do momentu rozpoczęcia nowego cyklu zastosować inne metody antykoncepcji.

Agnieszka  (Anonymous, 37.249.143.) 2 years ago

Olga Sierpniowska Pharmacist, Editor
