Are prolonged spotting and menstruation-like bleeding a cause for concern when using Azalea?
Good morning. I've been taking Azalia for a month and a half. The gynecologist prescribed it because I am perimenopausal and suffer from bleeding cycles. Two weeks ago I started to have discharge like very light menstruation then decreased. For three days the bleeding has started again and today it looks like menstruation, with normal flow. In addition, I have menstrual pain. Is this normal?

For the first few months of using Azalea, irregular bleeding, spotting, or menstruation-like bleeding is a common side effect of the drug and usually does not indicate anything alarming. The body needs time to adapt to the action of the hormonal preparation. You may also experience pain similar to menstrual pain.
If the bleeding is moderate and does not get worse, it is worth observing its course. However, if it becomes abundant, prolonged, the pain is severe, or additional worrying symptoms appear, you should contact your gynecologist. Also remember to take the tablets regularly at a fixed time. If irregular bleeding persists for several consecutive months, a medical check-up will be indicated.
