Is the protection maintained if, instead of 10 a.m., I took an Atywia tablet once at 7 a.m. and once at 9 p.m.?

I usually take Atiwium tablets at 10. The day before yesterday I took it at 7 a.m. and yesterday at 9 p.m. The time between tablets was 38 hours, and from the fixed time 35 hours. How to proceed further? Is contraception preserved?

The protection is maintained because no more than 12 hours have passed since you usually take the tablet. Nevertheless, this increases the risk of spotting and intracyclic bleeding.

In order for contraception to continue to be provided, you should take the next Atywia pills at about 10 a.m. (+/- 2 hours in both directions) – i.e. as recommended by the manufacturer – every day, at about the same time of day.

In your case, the protection is maintained and there is currently no need to take any additional action. However, it is worth returning to a regular cycle of taking the pills to avoid additional spotting/bleeding.
