Does hibiscus jelly weaken the effectiveness of Yasmin contraceptive pills?
15.00 zł

Hello, does hibiscus affect Yasmin birth control pills? Can raspberry jelly, which contains hibiscus extract, affect hormonal contraception? I ate jelly for a few days, but not immediately after taking the pill. I realized later that there was hibiscus in the composition. Should I use additional protection, and if so, for how long? Today I took the 18th pill if it matters.

And can eating a cake with jelly, which also contained hibiscus, swim on the Axia Conti contraceptive pill?

Such jelly contains traces of hibiscus extract, so its consumption does not affect the effectiveness of contraceptive pills.

100 grams of hibiscus flower contains about 12 mg of vitamin C, while only doses of vitamin C above 1000 mg per day can weaken the effectiveness of oral contraception.
