Swelling of the ankles has not been reported with Telmisartan so far. A full description of the side effects of the drug, along with their frequency, can be found in the package leaflet.
Telmisartan may cause angioedema in the eyelids, red lips (swollen lips), genital area and extremities (hands, feet), and mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract. The drug may also cause kidney dysfunction, which may also be accompanied by swelling.
