Is there a high risk of pregnancy if I had intercourse on day 6 after changing pills?
9.99 zł

Hello. I switched from Microgynon 21 to Orlifique. The doctor advised me to finish the microgynon so I took it for 21 days, 7 days off and 8 days I started new pills. Both drugs are two-component. On the 6th day of taking it, my partner and I had sex and we didn't use a condom for a while. Was I protected? Is there a high risk of pregnancy?

In this scenario, there is a small risk of pregnancy because contraceptive protection is maintained.

You did the right thing by starting to take the "new pill" after the 7-day break - which is when you usually took your first contraceptive pill.

If you are concerned about this situation, it is always a good idea to consult a doctor who can give you more personalized advice. If you do not have the opportunity to take advantage of the advice, I am attaching a link to the online teleconsultation:

I think it's ok, such a change after the break is acceptable.

User questions and answers that provide feedback about products are not verified for the purchase or use of the product. Companies often order anonymous comments to form positive opinions about their products, or negative ones about competitors. Therefore, be guided by the information in the pharmacists' responses in the first place.
