If you miss a contraceptive pill, you may be reduced or lose its effectiveness regardless of how long you have been taking the contraceptive pill. However, it is difficult to say more in your case because you did not specify the name of the product or, more importantly, in which week of use the pill the dose was missed.
Each pack of contraceptive pills contains a leaflet that has a section on what to do if you forget to take the pill. If you have any doubts, you can ask us an additional question.
