Can I switch from Vines to Dionelle if I still have 7 Vines tablets left?

Good morning. I have this question. I took Vines (almost a year), but then I started bleeding between periods. The gynaecologist prescribed me another medicine (Dionelle, because it is stronger) but I hadn't finished the blister vines yet, and the doctor told me not to take the whole package and immediately in the evening I took a Dionelle tablet (I still had 7 tablets until the end of the vines package). Is this normal? Should I have finished the vines packet ???

It is usually recommended to change after taking the last active tablet or after a 7-day break (which is when you would normally start a new pack of Vines).

If you start using Dionelle when there are still a few tablets left in the Vines pack, you may not be able to get protection right away. In this situation, it would be advisable to use additional contraception in the form of a condom for the first 7 days of taking Dionelle.
