Can I take a cracked contraceptive pill?
Good morning. This morning I noticed that the last pill from week 3 of the Vibin mini contraceptive pill is cracked in half, it is not crushed.
My question is, can I take such a pill and it won't negatively affect its effectiveness?

Contraceptive pills or any other film-coated pill should not be divided if they do not have a special groove to allow them to be divided (this information is included in the package leaflet). It is difficult to predict how the release and absorption of the active substance will change in such a situation. I suggest you take the tablet from another blister.
The question is why the tablet was cracked. Has the medicine been stored incorrectly, crushed by something? An abnormal appearance of the tablets (if it ever happens) is an indication to report the medicine to the pharmacy from which it was dispensed.
