I'm taking hastina 24+4 tablets, I've started the 8th pack at the moment. I didn't take the last pink pill from the previous package and according to what it said on the leaflet, the next day I started taking 4 white pills as planned and threw away the pink one. Now I'm on the 4th tablet from the new pack, is the protection maintained or should I use additional protection?

According to the Summary of Product Characteristics, if you miss a tablet between days 15 and 24 (row 3 and 4), you have two choices. You can:
1. Take the missed tablet as soon as you remember (even if it means you need to take two tablets at once). Take the next tablets again at the usual time. Instead of taking the white placebo tablets from the same blister, discard them and start taking the tablets from the next blister straight away (the start day will be different).
2. You can also stop taking the pink active tablets and go straight to 4 white placebo tablets (make a note of the day you forget to take the placebo tablets before taking the placebo tablets). If
want to start a new blister on your fixed day, take the tablets
placebo for less than 4 days.
If one of these two recommendations is followed, protection against pregnancy will be Preserved.
To sum up, protection against pregnancy is preserved. If you take the medicine at regular times and do not experience diarrhoea or vomiting, contraceptive efficacy is maintained.
