I have osteoporosis. 12.07 I was given prolia injection. I take Calperos osteo (1 table for chewing 1xdz.) and Vigantol 5 drops. A recent study of Vit. D3 dated 19.07.23 showed exceeding the norm, i.e.: I have 84.2 Vit. D3 125 (OH)2 (C5k) and the reference range is: 19.9-79.3. A doctor's appointment is only in a year. What should I do? Reduce the administration of Calperos osteo to 1/2 tabl. or discontinue Vigantol? Aldona.

Elevated levels of vitamin D3 can cause calcium deposition in the kidneys and blood vessels, which can damage them. I encourage you to consult a doctor, e.g. first contact, who will assess how supplementation should be continued in order to maintain adequate levels of vitamin D3 in the body. You can also use teleadvice via, for example, the portal Gdziepolek.pl: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja Until the consultation, you can stop Vigantol, because it is vitamin D3 itself. Stopping Vigantol should lower your vitamin D3 levels. Calperos Osteo is a combined preparation containing calcium including vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 is in 1 tablet of the drug only 880 IU, which is below the recommended daily intake of between 1000 and 2000 IU for adults, and for seniors between 2000 and 4000 IU.
