Good morning, I have a question about activated charcoal (0.25) and hormonal contraception (jeanine), on Saturday I drank 6 tablets by alcohol poisoning, i.e. 1 tablet per 10 kg of weight (one tablet too much because I am 50 kg), and on Monday, after taking another two doses of contraception, I had an unprotected relationship. Could carbon have reduced the effectiveness of the pills? Thank you in advance for your reply

How far after taking the contraceptive pill did you take charcoal? Activated carbon can limit the absorption of hormones from the tablet by "absorbing" them from the gastrointestinal tract. Preparations with charcoal can be taken with at least a 3-hour interval from contraceptive pills.
