Do I need to stop taking Clexane 40 mg gradually?
Do I have to stop Clexane 40 mg slowly (gradually) or can I stop from day to day? The doctor prescribed me 2 packs (a total of 20 injections) but I have doubts whether it can be discontinued overnight? And if so, will it not be dangerous to my health? Thank you in advance for your reply

I've been taking injections in the eye, it's been a long time and I can give advice. Normally I have anticoagulant eliquis, I should stop taking it 5-6 days before the injection and switch to clexane , it is safe!. On the day of the injection I don't take clexane, in the next two days after the injection I take clexane and then I go back to eliquis.
Doctors generally believe that clexane does not pose any danger at all and large surgeries are performed on it. I am cautious and discontinue the injection on the day. On the other hand, if someone is on eliquis, they have to!! Stop earlier and just switch to Clexane. In one case, I stopped Eliquis two days before the injection and despite switching to clexane I had a stroke, fortunately everything ended well because. I have a wonderful ophthalmologist. In general, you do not need to stop taking Clexane 'gradually', except if your doctor tells you for some reason. In general, the dose and number of injections are selected depending on the patient's weight and clinical situation (e.g. after surgery, due to immobilization). Your doctor will decide how long you should take Clexane, and you will stop taking Clexane after the last dose. I can present such information from a pharmaceutical point of view, but I do not know your health situation and I do not know whether after 20 injections you were supposed to end the treatment or, for example, come for a follow-up visit.
