For @Paula: Yes, you can take the tablet from the spare pack and contraceptive protection is preserved.
If I had this 21st tablet from another package and I took it on the planned day, is the protection maintained? I wanted to keep the cycle continuous

Taking two tablets on the same day does not affect the contraceptive effectiveness and protection is preserved. Since you will be missing the last 21st active tablet, in order to protect yourself, you should start a 7-day break a day earlier, after a 7-day break you should start a new pack.
