Good morning. On day 11 of the pack of birth control pills, I vomited after alcohol and I'm not sure about the time that has passed since taking the pill. I took it around 6:30 p.m. and I think I vomited around 10 p.m. I did not have the opportunity to take another pill. What to do in this case?

It is assumed that if vomiting or persistent diarrhoea occurs within 4 hours of taking the contraceptive pill, another additional contraceptive pill should be taken. If more time passes, there is a very small risk that vomiting has reduced absorption and thus contraceptive efficacy. If you are not sure how much time has passed and you have not taken the extra tablet, the best and safest solution is to use additional mechanical contraception for the next 7 days.
