On 9 July 2026, the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector decided to withdraw from the market and prohibit the marketing of the medicinal product Loperamide APTEO MED, Loperamide hydrochloride, 2 mg, hard capsules, op. cit. 20 capsules, GTIN: 05909991453596, for the following batches: series number IJW024004, expiry date 05.2027; series number IJW024004A, expiry date 05.2027; series number IJW024005, expiry date 05.2027; series number IJW024007, expiry date 05.2027; series number IJW024008, expiry date 06.2027; Series number IJW0225002, expiry date 02.2028 marketing authorisation holder: Synoptis Pharma Sp. z o.o. with its registered office in Warsaw, marketing authorisation number: 26184. The reason for the recall is that the content of the active substance (loperamide) is too low as a result of errors in the manufacturing process (granulation stage), which could result in reduced effectiveness of the drug.
