Good morning, For the last 3 days I had high blood pressure for me within 140/86-normally I have 110/70. The doctor prescribed me Nebilet once a day. I will add that after this episode with high blood pressure I got parainfluenza with a slight fever. Today I got up with a pressure of 96/74 and I do not know if I should take the tablet at such a low pressure. Please advise what I should do. Thank you

Usually, you should not stop treatment yourself. However, if the blood pressure is too low and you feel unwell associated with it, you should not take further doses of the drug, but you should consult your doctor again. It is uncertain whether the drop in blood pressure is transient (due to a cold/flu) or whether the increased blood pressure was a one-time episode. The decision on treatment should be made by a doctor, so I recommend a quick consultation as possible. Until the doctor's visit, it would be best to keep a diary of blood pressure measurements: - measure blood pressure twice a day, at more or less fixed hours (morning and evening) - several minutes before the measurement you should not practice intense physical exercise, it is advisable to rest - before measuring do not drink coffee, strong tea, smoke. With such a completed diary, you should go to a cardiologist who will determine whether there is hypertension that requires pharmacological treatment or not.
