Hello, today on eporade the doctor prescribed me floxal ointment for infection with a bacillus of blue pus on the nail. Will this ointment really help or maybe it is a mistake because I see that it is intended for the treatment of eye infections.

There are no contraindications to the use of Floxal ointment in infections other (such as nail infection) than eye infections, if the doctor considers it justified. Floxal ointment can be used for all infections caused by bacteria sensitive to ofloxacin: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/30526/floxal-masc-do-oczu/apteki The spectrum of action of Floxal is relative anaerobes, absolute anaerobes, aerobic bacteria and other microorganisms such as chlamydia. The resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (blue oil bacilli) is 15-20%. Infection with bacillus blue pus is difficult to treat. In case of doubt about the recommended treatment, I encourage you to consult your doctor again.
