Does the antibiotic Primcilin 800 mg reduce the effectiveness of contraception?
Hello living abroad and unfortunately my English is poor, I got an antibiotic called primcillin 800 mg and I was not able to learn much about it, but can it reduce the effectiveness of contraceptive pills? Tomorrow I have the first pill to take antibiotics the same tomorrow I start a new blister . Please reply

The antibiotic Primcilin contains phenoxymethylated penicillin (similar drugs in Poland are, for example, Ospen). Some sources indicate that it may reduce the effectiveness of hormonal contraception. Therefore, an additional method of contraception (condom) should be used throughout the period of treatment and for 7 days after stopping treatment.
