Hello, together with my boyfriend we had sex on the 14th day of my cycle, unfortunately the condom slipped off and stayed in the vagina along with the contents. I took the Ellaone tablet about 3.5 hours after this event. My cycle usually lasts from 27 to 29 days, the last one was also 29 days. I also did not feel any side effects of this pill. I also conduct cervical examinations and on the 17th day of the cycle it is open and soft, while there is little mucus. What is the risk of pregnancy? I'm very stressed and I'm a bundle of nerves.

A sufficiently fast "pill after" (in the case of EllaOne within 120h) is an effective method of contraception in emergency situations, but it is not a 100% sure method. The proportion of pregnancies despite the use of emergency contraception is approximately 2% (2 out of 100 women become pregnant). However, it should be taken into account that the probability of pregnancy is influenced by various factors, such as: the time that has passed since the relationship to taking the pill, the phase of the woman's cycle in which the intercourse occurred, the age of the partners and their overall fertility. For this reason, it is impossible to unequivocally answer the question of what is the risk of pregnancy in an individual case.
