If one neuroleptic has a lot of side effects, can two others be used in low doses? For example, if aripyrazole 15 mg has an antipsyhchotic effect but has undesirable effects, is it possible to use, for example, 37 mg of lurasidone and 200 mg of amisulpiride to obtain the same antipsychotic dsialania but without side effects? In general, whether two neuroleptics in low doses for psychotic symptoms can replace one in a high dose??? Is this practice used? Best regards

Any medication may or may not cause side effects, and not all side effects are dose-dependent. Aripiprazole, lurasidone and amisulpiride are three different drugs - they are not equivalents and are not used interchangeably from a pharmaceutical point of view. If, on the other hand, two drugs exert their effect through the same prescription mechanism, then you can expect the potentization of both the therapeutic effect and some side effects. In an individual case, the type of drug and the dosage are selected by the doctor, but - as I have already mentioned - it is impossible to guarantee that no side effects will definitely occur. However, questions about the practice of combining psychiatric drugs have already been asked by us several times, let me collect below helpful links: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/opinie-i-pytania/81701/abilify-czy-laczne-stosowanie-15-mg-lurazydonu-i-15-mg-arypiprazolu-jest-bezpie https://www.gdziepolek.pl/opinie-i-pytania/81643/czy-mozna-stosowac-razem-takie-leki-jak-moclobemid-amusulpryd-i-lurasidon https://www.gdziepolek.pl/opinie-i-pytania/81369/abilify-czy-mozna-stosowac-lacznie-preparaty-z-lurazydonem-arypiprazolem-i-mok https://www.gdziepolek.pl/opinie-i-pytania/79779/latuda-czy-stosowanie-dwoch-neuroleptykow-ma-sens The following studies may also be of interest: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czy-bac-sie-dzialan-niepozadanych-lekow https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-zyc-ze-schizofrenia
