What should I do if I ran out of the 21st tablet from the blister of contraceptive pills?

One day, while taking active birth control pills, I took double the dose from one pack because I had diarrhea. If it is now the conventional 21st day of taking active pills, but on that day I am already starting to take placebo tablets, am I still protected? (So you can say that I took active pills for 20 days, not 21). How do I proceed? Should I start taking placebo pills and start a new blister after finishing them?

If after 20 tablets you have switched to a placebo and you will use a placebo for 7 consecutive days, then you will start another package - protection is preserved and there is no need for additional contraception in the form of a condom. So after the 20th tablet, please take a placebo for 7 days, then go to the new package. It is important that the interval between the use of active tablets is not more than 7 days.
