Can the use of contraceptive pills be the cause of spider veins on the legs?

Good morning, I have been taking yaz for a month, previously I used diane35 and belara. I noticed a lot of piercing veins and spider veins on my legs. Is it normal that at the age of 21 this is the case? Is it through contraception?

The changes you observe do not necessarily have to be related to the method of contraception used, but this cannot be completely ruled out. One of the side effects of contraceptive pills is edema, caused by venous insufficiency. This may be related to the effect of estrogens contained in two-component contraceptive pills on the walls of blood vessels. For bursting capillaries on the legs (so-called spider veins) is usually responsible for a sedentary lifestyle and genetics. Very often they are the first symptom of chronic venous insufficiency. If such changes are observed, it is worth going to a phlebologist and introducing appropriate prophylaxis.
