Hello. Will the hcg beta test be reliable if I do 5 days after the expected menstrual period? Because I read differently, that on the day of the expected month you can already do, that a week after menstruation. So when will it be most reliable?

The test performed 10-14 days after the last intercourse allows to obtain fully reliable results.

A test performed 10-14 days after the last intercourse allows you to obtain fully reliable results.
It is assumed that for a pregnant woman in the first weeks of pregnancy, the result of the determination of the level of the hormone beta-hCG should be over 5 mIU/ml. In a normally developing pregnancy, the level of beta-hCG doubles on average every 48 hours and increases until the 9-12th week of pregnancy. At a later stage of pregnancy, it drops to 10-20% of the maximum value.

A laboratory test of blood will be reliable after approx. 10 days after intercourse. The home test can be performed, for example, on the day of the expected menstruation (or not earlier than 10-14 days after intercourse) - then the beta HCG level in the case of pregnancy will be so high that the test will be reliable. If the cause of amenorrhea is pregnancy, the concentration of beta HCG doubles every other day. Thus, a test taken a week after the expected menstrual period will be even more reliable.
