Is a one-time spotting after a year of taking Orlifique a cause for concern?

What can spotting result from when taking Orlifique contraceptive pills? I have been taking the tablets for a year, I take them regularly, placebo tablets only in a week. Could it be an infection? I have no other symptoms, no burning or itching. Please reply

Spotting is a common side effect of birth control pills, which is most often caused by, for example, stressful situations or a common cold. If you are examined regularly and all the results are in order, then if the spotting does not recur, there is no reason to worry. I take orlifique and I also have spotting at 3 weeks before placebo, this is due to the low dose. As you will have so often then switch to microgynon 21.
