Tauroursodeoxycholic acid contained in supplements does not have a healing effect, but only allows you to supplement your daily diet with this ingredient. Therefore, it is difficult to talk about its actual - healing effect on the liver. At the same time, there are foreign publications that describe that this acid is used in the treatment of cholelithiasis and cirrhosis of the liver - in these studies, however, specially purified and tested tauroursodeoxycholic acid was used, which may have a slightly different bioavailability than that used in commercially available supplements (it is difficult to determine the differences between these substances, because the acid contained in supplements is not tested, for example, under safety or bioavailability - the manufacturer is not obliged to do so). We write about the difference between drugs and supplements here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czym-roznia-sie-leki-od-suplementow In addition, I would like to point out that products with tauroursodeoxycholic acid are available on the non-pharmacy market, you can not buy them in pharmacies. Which may further question their safety and effectiveness. More here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/dlaczego-warto-kupowac-leki-tylko-w-aptece
