I have been taking vines hormonal contraception for about 10 months. And for about a week I have been bleeding, quite abundantly from the very beginning, now a little less but there is still blood. I have a visit to the gynecologist only in 5 days, and talking to him he said that I will definitely have to have the pills changed. The question is whether it is better to stop using those I take now? Is it better to take until the visit and go straight to the others?

If you stop taking Vines tablets now, there will be withdrawal bleeding. If the doctor did not order the end of taking the tablets immediately, then there seems to be no need. Switching to another product should also be easier if you do not interrupt your cycle (you will not have to wait for the first day of physiological menstruation). In addition, when contraception resumes after a break of 4 weeks or more, the risk of blood clots also increases. According to the Vines leaflet: "If such bleeding persists for more than a few months or if it begins after a few months, the doctor should investigate the cause." The documentation therefore mentions the need to consult sudden spotting and mid-cycle bleeding, but does not mention them as a reason why the drug must be discontinued immediately. However, in case of doubt, please contact the gynecologist again - I do not have access to your medical records, I have no suspicions of what may be caused by bleeding, so my assessment of the best solution in your individual case can not be reliable.
