When serotonin levels rise under the influence of SSRIs (e.g. Citaxin), serotonin receptors are stimulated not only in the brain, but also in the digestive tract. The combined stimulating effect - both on the gastrointestinal tract and the central nervous system can cause side effects such as loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting. These types of symptoms occur especially at the beginning of treatment and can last up to 3 months. Parogen, like Citaxin, contains substances belonging to the same group of antidepressants - SSRIs. It is possible that similar symptoms will also occur at the beginning of its use. Before you decide to stop taking the drug, it is worth trying one of the ways to alleviate the ailment, e.g. take the drug during a meal, if the drug is recommended to be used 1 time a day, take it before bedtime. You can also use infusions of ginger or preparations based on ginger. If the ailments are so bothersome that they prevent daily functioning, it will be necessary to visit a doctor who will decide to change the drug or recommend drugs that inhibit nausea.
