Antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 virus generally begin to appear 1-2-3 weeks after infection. This falls approximately on about the 7-10th day of illness. First, IgM class antibodies associated with fresh, active infection are formed. Their level, however, is falling quite quickly. A little later, the production of IgG antibodies ("late phase") begins, which persist in the blood and are one of the elements of long-term immunity. However, their concentration also eventually begins to decrease, which is one of the reasons why getting sick does not guarantee that a person will not get SICK AGAIN with COVID-19. It has not been determined how long the antibodies last after infection, nor how long and to what extent they protect against reinfection (subsequent infection). There are also no clear guidelines as to what level of antibodies can be considered "desirable" or "protective". An additional difficulty in assessing the body's immunity is the fact that not only antibodies are responsible for the body's immunity, but also a section called "cellular immunity", which includes T lymphocytes. On the original result you should find information about which antibodies are affected by the result and whether the result you received is reactive (positive) or non-reactive (negative).
