Can I expect weaker bleeding only from the next package?

Can the bleeding be weaker at the first pack of vines? For the last 6 months I have been using ginoring rings, but I have had very heavy bleeding with it. The doctor prescribed me vines and I have supposed to have scanty periods after them, yesterday I took the first pill and the bleeding is still abundant, can I expect weaker bleeding only from the next package?
