Bleeding when using Evra patches - what to do?

I use evra patches and at the third patch I got spotting and my period begins or is it normal? What should I do in such a situation? How to glue the next patches? What do I peel off?

Hello, I'm on the third pack of contraceptive patches, I used the first two patches correctly and the period appeared regularly after 28 days. With the third package, I removed the first patch on Sunday at about 8 p.m., as I should have changed, but I didn't apply the next one until Tuesday at 11 a.m. Yesterday I changed the second patch to the third as always and today I got spotting, could it be due to the later sticking of the second patch and is it a cause for concern? I should get my period in 9 days

Good morning. I've been using evre for quite a long time. Recently the second patch came off at night, but I stuck another one in a different place and got my period. I applied the third patch according to the scheme, i.e. Tuesday, today is Friday and I still have my period. I peel off the third patch on Tuesday. I would like to add that my period is not strong and I am not accompanied by any other symptoms

To @Agata:

The answer to your question is contained in the message pinned to the top of the post.

Spotting/mid-cycle bleeding is normal at the start of Evra and does not indicate pregnancy.

Good morning, I'm using evera patches, I'm finishing the 2nd package on Wednesday, I got brown spotting, and I'm peeling off the 3rd patch on Monday.
Today is Friday, I have the impression that it's my period, because sometimes it's a little more, although it's a different color, because dark brown, is it normal? Could it mean pregnancy?

To @anonimowa:

There should be no cause for concern about the combination of the contraceptive implant and the Evra patch – their simultaneous use does not reduce the effectiveness of the implant. On the contrary, adding a patch can even increase the level of protection because it introduces an additional hormone.

As for lower abdominal pain, it can be the result of the hormonal action of both remedies or natural changes in the cycle, however, if the pain is intense or does not go away, it would be a good idea to consult a gynecologist to make sure that everything is fine.

If you are unable to consult your doctor, you can use the teleconsultation here:

Good evening! I have a contraceptive implant and half of the evra patch (at once, because the patch is to compensate for menstruation, which was disturbed by the implant), I already have a patch on for the 3rd week and I have been experiencing a lot of pain in the lower abdomen for a few days, should I worry about it? My second question is whether the combination of these two methods can reduce the effectiveness of the implant? I'm very afraid of pregnancy and I don't want to fall in. Greetings and thank you in advance for your answer!

For @Oona: You stick the first patch from the new packaging after a 7-day break, i.e. on the next Sunday. The time does not matter. The patch should be applied regardless of the ongoing bleeding. Even if the bleeding continues, please apply the patch. More information can be found here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/plastry-antykoncepcyjne

To @Kasia: No method of contraception gives you 100% certainty that you will not get pregnant. When used correctly, Evra patches are a very effective method of preventing pregnancy - the Pearl Index indicates that less than 1 in 100 women become pregnant when using this method.

Hi I use patches ewra some 7 years always the same if there is a possibility of getting pregnant if there was an injection during intercourse

To @Oona: Irregular or prolonged bleeding during the first 3 months of contraceptive use is usually not a cause for concern. This period is the so-called adaptation period, during which the body adapts to hormonal changes occurring in the body under the influence of hormones used. If after 3 months of using the patches bleeding continues or is abundant, you should see a doctor who will decide on further treatment. Prolonged bleeding may promote the development of anemia.
