Is it normal that the menstruation during which I started using Ginoring is lighter and has a different color?

Good morning, If yesterday was my first day of the cycle and I applied the ginoring system (this is my first ever application of this type of contraception) does this have a link with the fact that today my period is much lighter with a darker color, and usually these are the days when my period is most intense?
