Is one month's use of Evra patches associated with a risk of weight gain?

My partner goes to work for two months and returns for a two-week holiday. I would like to start using evra contraceptive patches and use them during my partner's holiday (i.e. one cycle of 3 patches) when i leave I will put them away for these two months. I wonder if such use of them for one cycle and then weaning can be associated with side effects? I am most interested in weight gain because I am very afraid that gain weight. 😕 A visit to the gynecologist will be my first visit and I would also like to know if I can get a prescription for e.g. 2 packs of patches so That I do not have to make an appointment with a gynecologist so often and spend money on the visit to prescribe these patches to me?
