How long can bleeding last after Kyleena IUD?
I have had the Kyleena hormonal IUD on since August 2022, the period has occurred very rarely, I have had my period all the time for three weeks, I have been to two different gynecologists, everything is gynecologically ok, the IUD is in place, there are no fibroids, no polyps either. The doctor prescribed me Lenzetto 1 time a day to increase hormones and the drug culyclo 3 forte to end the period when I can expect an improvement in the end of the period.

Irregular bleeding and spotting are a common side effect, especially observed in the first months after insertion of the Kyleena IUD. It is difficult to assess how long such a problem may persist in your case. The vast majority of patients observe a significant inhibition of endometrial function after some time and a shortening and decrease in the volume of menstrual bleeding (in some cases - until the cessation of menstruation). If the doctor has not diagnosed any organic causes of increased bleeding, you should wait until the problem goes away on its own (theoretically - the manufacturer assumes the possibility of spotting/bleeding for 3-6 months from the moment the IIU is placed). If the problem worsens in the following weeks, you should go to the gynaecologist again for an examination.
